How many times have you seen someone hit rock bottom before changing their life? Many people wait until the pain is great enough to make changes in the life. Growing past the pain that this lifestyle that got one to rock bottom can be challenging to say the least. In order to get past this pain will require someone to move out of living a familiar lifestyle.
For some people that will require changes in behavior, spending habits, living situations, and even beliefs. In order to move to growing past the pain one must first recognize that life is not where you want to be in your life, career, or business.
Most people that experience major life changes recognize living in pain very easily; while others seem to struggle to see their life as painful. The obvious life changes can include things like a death in the family, going through foreclosure, a change in income (loss of a job, career change, and divorce), an accident, a sudden change in your relationship, or the children leaving the home. These types of changes in your life are hard to miss whether they are sudden or you can see them coming they are the obvious changes, the challenge lies in how to handle these changes.
Unless people seek our reliable professional advice or guidance many people transcribeme jobs are clueless on how to change their life. In fact, people that go through these types of changes often act as if life is fine, that they are able to handle all the changes without any issues.
The reality of this behavior can show up in their life in a variety of ways – they become less social or perhaps much more social, they stop seeing friends, they drink alone, start taking drugs (prescribed, over the counter, legal or illegal), clutter, showing up late for work or appointments, change in appearance.
On the other hand, changes can also show up in life as major changes, but not so obvious. These types of changes can include but are not limited to things like not being as punctual as before, procrastinating, hesitating to answer questions or invitations, becoming more easily frustrated, lashing out at people you love, becoming very critical of themselves, no eating properly, becoming sick more often, change in spending habits, and so on.
Realizing these changes may be easier for family, friends, and co-workers, however when the individual going through these changes recognizes that they are happening then one of two things will happen, either the person will go off the deep end or they will say enough is enough. Some people never get to the point where the pain is great enough and they never make changes; while others recognize and admit to the pain and take action to make changes in their lives.
At times, people don’t even realize that they have inner conflicts going on, but they know that they are tired of living the way they do or they are tired of being the ‘sucker’ in the relationship and they step up and make changes in their life. People have to understand that at times growing past the pain will mean understanding the underlying issue and sometimes that can take time. Things such as our belief system take time to make changes that will impact our life.
For example if you grew up with siblings that always criticized what you did, what you said, your friends, your grades, etc. then you will have some self-esteem issues to deal with before you are able to make changes in your life.
For some women this will show up in the relationships they choose, men and women with self-esteem issues tend to gravitate towards abusive relationships. If you are not where you want to be in life, know that you can change things, no matter how bad they seem.
The key to making changes in your life is to get to the core of why things are this way in your life. Understand that just recognizing the underlying issues will not change your life, it will be the action that you take to address these issues that will allow you to grow past the pain.
